Butterfly Life-Cycle Project

Pre-Schoolers enjoy taking part in our life-cycle project at nursery. The children eagerly watch as the hungry caterpillars grow and emerge as beautiful butterflies.

Alongside watching the transformation, the children enjoy a variety of activities to truly embed their learning. We read stories, create caterpillar and butterfly artwork, and use our motor skills to chop fruit for the butterflies.

Teaching the butterfly life cycle is a fun and creative way to get young learners excited about science. It helps children to understand how some living things grow and change, and develop our children’s understanding of the world around them whilst being caring and careful.
