Food is fuel and here at Boys & Girls Nursery and we provide fresh, home-cooked dishes every single day. Our qualified and experienced chefs prepare from scratch well-balanced and appetising meals that provide all the nutrients children need to stay in tip-top condition.
We believe that it is not only the food that our children eat that encourages good behavior but also the way the food is served and eaten. To encourage good table manners and eating habits our nursery staff eat at the table with the children as we find that even the fussiest of eaters become good eaters when they sit with their friends and carers.
Our kitchens are equipped to cater for all special dietary requirements and allergies and every day children enjoy:
- breakfast, which comprises a selection of cereals
- two-course hot lunch
- two-course tea
Fresh fruit, milk and water are always available too.
Our 4 week rolling menu has been developed with the support and advice from Sally Temple, a qualified nutritionist, who specialises in child nutrition.
Sally is the founder of The Nutrition Place which is a nutritional therapy clinic specialising in children and family health based in St Albans. She trained in nutrition at the internationally renowned Institute for Optimum Nutrition gaining a Diploma and Foundation Science Degree in Nutritional Health and set up The Nutrition Place in 2011.
Having two young children herself, Sally is particularly interested in promoting child health and supporting parents with practical, achievable advice to enable their children to eat themselves healthy.
Sally is passionate about what she does and feels very fortunate to work in such a rewarding job –
