Over £1600 raised for RTS Support Group!

Boys & Girls Nursery Stanmore were thrilled to recently support one of their families in raising money for the RTS Support Group. Rubenstein Taybi Syndrome (RTS) is a rare genetic disorder affecting approximately 1 in 125,000 people. The RTS Support Group aims to raise awareness of the condition, provide information and support to families and encourage research.

The children at Boys & Girls Nursery Stanmore took part in a sponsored sports day in June with the help of extra-curricular provider, Challenge Sport & Education, raising £385. A raffle took place over the summer bringing the total raised to over £1,600.

Zohra and Abbas, parents of Aara who up until recently attended Boys & Girls Nursery Stanmore and who has been diagnosed with RTS, said “The team at Stanmore are amazing and have worked with us to get Aara to where she is today. We are so grateful that they continue to help us raise awareness of RTS and are delighted with the money raised”.

Denise Brown, Manager, Boys & Girls Nursery Stanmore, proudly said “We have loved watching Aara grow over the years she has been with us, we have developed a close bond with the family and will miss her now she has started her journey at school. Thank you to everyone who donated and helped us raise a fantastic sum for the RTS Support Group
