Activities

The children love to keep us very busy at Boys & Girls Nursery!

Because they are curious, questioning and eager to learn, we encourage their natural curiosity by offering many different activities, all of which are appropriate to each stage of their development.

It doesn't matter what age they are – from the youngest babies to the pre-schoolers – we make sure that there is always plenty to keep them occupied.

Staff carefully organise timetables for each day, ensuring there is a balance between structured play and learning alongside child-led activities, where children can choose what they want to do. One thing is for certain: the more variety there is on offer, the more your child will learn, and the more they will enjoy it!

Each base room has zones to enjoy different activities. These include:

  • Messy area
  • Painting and drawing
  • Floor play
  • Exploring
  • Construction
  • Independent play, with jigsaws, books and board games

Children in the Pre-School Room enjoy a broader range of activities, as they prepare for infant school.
These include:

  • Educational walks
  • Visits from the Fire Brigade, Police etc
  • French lessons

All children:

  • Go for walks in the local area in closely supervised groups or are taken out in buggies
  • Enjoy a weekly music class with Jo Jingles
  • Have structured music and movement sessions, including bubbles and lights for the youngest babies

There is never a dull moment at Boys & Girls Nursery!

from 3 months to pre-school
